HOTEL ADMINISTRATION

Hotel Manager

This is the Head of the Department and it involves the management and supervision of the staff in all departments with the exception of the deck and engine staff. He/she must have had General Hotel Manager experience of no less than 5 years, a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or prior Cruise Ship experience. The applicant would be required to have no less than five years experience in a similar position on land or ship, fluently Spanish and  know English well and posses a degree in Hotel Management.

Food & Beverage Manager (Reports to Hotel Manager)

Responsible for the management and supervision of the restaurants, bar, galley and related areas.  He is responsible for service quality in all areas of the cruise ship that serve meals and drinks. Responsibilities include food costing budgeting, training, maintaining a high standard of food quality, service, safe handling of food supplies etc fluently Spanish and know English well Must have three/five years’ food and beverage experience in a hotel or restaurant, or prior ship experience in related position. Culinary background and education preferible.

 

PURSER DEPARTMENT

Chief Purser (Reports to Hotel Manager)

She/he is the Administration Officer of the ship..Responsible for ensuring that all Immigration and Customs regulations are followed and that all documentation required by various Port Authorities/Agencies is in proper order. Coordinating Meets ports agents and customs and immigration officials at the gangway at all ports to deliver documentation to clear the cruise ship and maintains a professional working relationship with port agents and customs and immigration officials. Oversees all operations within the pursers department, including, Accounting office, Crew office, Purser's Office.  Fluent English and Spanish Language skills required for this job.

Front Desk Manager

Oversees operations of the reception desk, assist with immigration during clearance. Supervise full front desk services to passengers. Cabin Occupancy Control,  check regularly the work of the Receptionists and coordinate or provide assistance if necessary The supervision of the Information Desk ensuring that the Receptionists are always courteous and professional in their assistance to passengers To fully supervise and control the embarkation/disembarkation process of passengers. He/she handles delayed luggage for our guests, assisting in clearance of the ship upon arrival into each port of call. Makes work schedules for reception, duty schedules.  Fluent Spanish Language skills required for this job. Good command over English language

 

 

Crew Purser (Reports to Chief Purser)

He/she handles the administration of the  crew sign- on and sign-off the ship, cabin assignments, crew identification cards etc. Clears crewmembers with immigration and Customs . He/she makes sure all contracts are signed and rules and regulations are handed out to each crewmember, which they have to sign for. Excellent administration background essential. Accounting background helpful. Fluent English Language skills required for this job. Good command over Spanish language

Assistant Purser (Receptionist)  (Reports to Chief Purser)

The Assistant Purser (Junior Officer) represents cruise line policies and procedures and is a key “front line” contact for the passengers on board the cruise ships. Responsible for passengers' check-in and checkout in the accommodation area, including settling accounts at the end of the cruise They provide guest services, information, exchanges  foreign currency, posts mail, provides safety deposit box service. Provides banking services for passengers, assists with resolving guest complaints and any additional duties that may be assigned by the Front Desk Manager. Performs bank duties on a regular basis and is responsible for the “bank” cash float and balancing of the float on a daily basis. Responsible for giving information in an efficient manner to our guests .Pursers also handle passengers' questions, complaints, lost luggage, room changes, currency exchange etc making public announcements

ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT

Chief Accountant

This person would be responsible for the supervision and overseeing the revenue flow on the ship. Is responsible for the accounts on board such as tallying daily operating incomes from all dining room, bars, and casinos, etc. and other normal duties related to accounting. The incumbent would be required to have an excellent accounting background, good managerial skills and fluency is English is another must. Fluently in Spanish is essential.

Assistant Chief Accountant

Main responsibility is the operation of cashless cabin charge system includes early morning closing of registers, running reports, balancing daily revenue and generating passenger statements The incumbent would be required to have an good  accounting background, good managerial skills and fluency is English is another must. Fluently in Spanish is essential.

 

ENTERTAINEMENT/SHOREX

Cruise Director (Reports to Hotel Director)

The Cruise Director is the department head for the Entertainment/Cruise Staff Department onboard the ship, and is directly responsible for the programming and scheduling of all the entertainment, recreational, and social activities. He/she establishes and maintains the standard of the social environment onboard. She/he is in charge of the passengers' entertainment.  All cruise staff members, entertainers, and musicians work under him. The Cruise Director may be an officer (with two or three gold bar status), or he may be a non-sailor" with an entertainment background. He/she should have a good command on English Fluent in Spanish is essential

Head Cruise Staff (Reports to Cruise Director)

The Assistant Cruise Director is responsible for assisting the Cruise Director in coordinating all the entertainment, recreational, and social activities as programmed by the Cruise Director. His/her responsibility is to ensure that all activities are properly staffed and that events run safely and begin promptly as scheduled. Shore Excursions Manager (Reports to Cruise Director)

This person would be in-charge of the supervision, presentation as well as promotion of the shore excursions. The applicant will require to have travel-related experience, a travel and tourism degree and/or at least one year experience on ship as Cruise Staff or Asst. Shore Excursion Manager. The Shore Excursion Manager is required to give presentations or informative talks onboard about the various excursions they offer prior to reaching port. he/she should have a good command on English, fluent in Spanish is essential

Shore Excursion Staff (Reports to Shore Excursion Manager)

The responsibility of shore excursion staff is to assist with shore excursions and land tours.

Office and administrative skills are required, but no previous experience in tourism is necessary. This person would be responsible for the promotion activities and sales of shore excursions. They also must politely deal with complaints from passengers. Fluent in Spanish is essential

Cruise Staff   (Reports to Cruise Director)

The duties of the Cruise Staff are to organize and to conduct activities, games and entertainment for the passengers which will keep them entertained and active. These are entry-level positions within the Entertainment department, suitable for enthusiastic extroverts only. They are expected to socialize with passengers, play games, dance, call bingo numbers, get passengers involved in social and entertainment activities, provide customer service, etc. Performance duties are required as well. She/he should be a good planner, and a well-organized person, and someone who really loves people. Fluent in Spanish is essential

Stage Manager   (Reports to Cruise Director)

Responsible for running the production shows and managing the technical staff – extensive hands on experience required. Their duties include scheduling, running shows, and supervising the performers and technicians onboard. A minimum of 5 years of professional theater knowledge is required, and additional show control knowledge is a plus. Fluent in Spanish is essential should also have a good command on English

Disc Jockey (Reports to Cruise Director)

The Disc Jockey is responsible for setting the appropriate atmosphere through the use of prerecorded music for any assigned activities, with specific responsibilities in the nightclub. Fluent in Spanish is essential

CASINO

Casino Manager (Reports to Hotel Manager)

Responsible for all the casino and staff. Responsibilities include accounting and managing staff. Previous experience in the role is required

Cashier  (Reports to Casino Manager)

Responsible for selling casino chips and tokens, providing currency exchange and change; also preparing cash reports.

Casino Inspector (Reports to Casino Manager)

Reports are made directly to the office on how the casino is operating.

Croupier (Reports to Casino Manager)

An employee of the casino, who operates the various casino games, must have at least 2 years experience of the position with a good knowledge of at least 2 games (blackjack, poker, craps, baccarat or roulette). 

 

GIFT SHOP

Gift Shop Manager

 Supervises staff and oversees operation of gift shop, retail and managerial experience required. Ensures good service and quality. Responsibilities include shop accounting, stock supplies and product displays. The salary is commission based.Must have three to five years retail experience.  Managerial experience necessary and public speaking skills for on board demonstrations.  Fluent in Spanish

 

Assistant Gift Shop Manager

Assists the gift shop Manager. Oversees the day to day operations and assists in managing the retail staff.  The salary is commission based. Reports directly to the Gift Shop Manager. One to two years retail management experience is necessary together with public speaking skills for on board demonstrations. Fluent in Spanish

 

Gift Shop Assistant

Responsible for selling merchandise in onboard gift shops. He/she is expected to meet or exceed company established sales goals and customer satisfaction levels by receiving, displaying, maintaining, promoting and selling merchandise. The salary is commission based.

 Must have two to four years of previous retail merchandising, display and sales experience. Must speak clearly, distinctly and cordially with customers.

BEAUTY SALON

 

Beauty Salon Manager

Oversees entire operations of the Beauty Salon, (accounting and management of the salon staff). Extensive beauty salon and managerial experience required. The salary is commission based . Fluent in Spanish.


Assistant Beauty Salon Manager

Manages the day to day operations of the Beauty Salon as directed by the Salon Manager. Beauty Salon and managerial experience required. The salary is commission based. Fluent in Spanish

PHOTOGRAPHY

Photo Manager (Reports to Hotel Manager)

Oversees entire operations of the photo department. Accounting all revenue procedures. Manages Staff.  Must have three to five years professional photography/managerial experience and an outgoing personality with a blend of salesmanship. The salary is commission based.

Photographer (Reports to Photo Manager)

Responsible for passengers portraits, photo processing. Takes photographs of the passengers in various shipboard activities and later processes and prints the film in a shipboard lab. Photographers take pictures of passengers during embarkation, parties, dinners etc. They must be extrovert sales-focused people, able to sell their service to the customers. Spanish language and photographic experience required along with plenty of enthusiasm and personality .The salary is commission based.

FOOD PRODUCTION

Executive Chef: (Reports to Hotel Director)

The Executive Chef is the overall manager of the Galley. Ensures the efficient operation of all food production areas; constantly analyze cost and quality of food production and displays; coordinate functions, train, and manage all employees on a constant basis to assure high cruise line standards, assures quality products, and complete guest satisfaction. He is responsible for planning the menus, ordering food (in conjunction with the Food and Beverage Manager), organizing his staff, and arranging meals. The applicant should have about ten years of experience in reputed hotels or restaurants; have good command over English language and have appropriate qualifications (completed culinary school education). Fluently  in Spanish is essential.

Sous Chef: (Reports to Executive Chef)

Responsible for assisting the Chef in the preparation and service of shipboard meals for guests and crew. Supervise all Galley personnel in the performance of their duties. Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, makes certain that all established food quality standards are maintained and improved continuously; assist in planning and coordinating functions; assist in training and managing all employees to ensure high cruise line standards and complete guest satisfaction.. The applicant should have at least 4-5 years experience in a similar position on land or a ship, know English well, and have completed relevant culinary school. ). Fluent in Spanish is essential.

Chef Tournant (Reports to Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef )

He is a direct link between the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and he will be responsible for the buffets planning and execution. The applicant should have at least four years of experience in a similar position on land or ship, completed the culinary school and speak English fluently. Fluent in Spanish is essential.

STORES

Hotel Inventory Manager

Responsible for the entire storage, ordering and distribution of all food supplies as directed by the Executive Chef – food and beverage background essential along with a good accountancy knowledge.  Good English skills required. Ensures that all Company policies are followed in storage, receiving, issuing and ordering.  Maintains the highest standards of quality control by ensuring specifications are adhered to.

Assistant Provision Master

Responsible for the storage, ordering and distribution of all food supplies as directed by the Hotel Inventory Manager.  Food and beverage background essential along with a good accountancy knowledge. Good English language skills required.

BAR

Bar Manager (Reports to Food & Bev. Manager)

 Ensures the efficient operation of all bars through constant analyzing of sales and costs, planning and coordinating functions, and training and managing all employees on a consistent basis to ensure high quality in product and guest satisfaction.  Also responsible for all inventory levels. The salary is commission based.

Assistant Bar Manager (Reports to Bar Manager)

Supervises all bar personnel in the performance of their duties. Under the supervision of the Bar Manager, helps to ensure the efficient operation of all bar outlets, and special functions. He/She assists in planning and coordinating functions, training, and managing all employees on a consistent basis to ensure high quality in product and guest satisfaction. The salary is commission based.

Wine Store Keeper (Reports to Bar Manager)

Responsible for the issuance of wine to bars and dining room, inventory control and requisitions from main store to cellar. The salary is commission based.

Head Bartender (Reports to Bar Manager)

Supervises all bartenders in the performance of their duties. He follows inventory control procedures. The salary is commission based.
